Alex Turns FIVE!

How quickly time passes - it seems as though only yesterday I was bringing Alex home. And now she's five!!

We had three celebrations - one at home (pizza from Pizza Hut at home), one at school with her classmates, and one with other friends at an indoor play area later on the weekend. Actually, she'd already celebrated her "American birthday" six weeks earlier on our holiday so that makes four!

She received a jewelry box to hold all her jewels, some play "pizza" and some clothes (plus a promise to go clothes shopping to buy some dresses and shoes). A special day, she was able to open her gifts before school as she was ready so early. After we picked her up from the bus-stop that afternoon, we headed home with pizza and brownies for the "cake".She was very good at blowing out the candle - Sebastien is already imitating her with his "lego cake".The following day, we took a special cake to school. This year, it was a size more befitting the class and NOT 20 inches!! She liked her Hello Kitty cake. Unfortunately we missed the time allotted to us for the cake (a mis-communication through translators) so the teachers had our camera to take photos.

Each classmate gathered for a photo - though only twenty here of a class of close to forty (I'll have to ask Alex to fill me in on who they all are!)They all gathered around to sing Happy Birthday in Chinese and English and watch Alex blow out the candle. Then Alex served the cake to her friends.
And got to eat some herself.During the week, some parcels arrived. And that weekend we had a great time with Emma and her parents at the indoor playground.Alex had ordered "cake, hats and blowers" as her wishes for a party.
We enjoyed a small selection of cakes before finishing up with making HUGE bubbles.
