Turning Four in China - at home

For the longest time Mummy's birthday coincided with term-time in Australia, truly a boon as birthday parties were de rigeur and more difficult to organise during the holidays. Then Australia went from a three term to a four term year and that nixed her term-time birthday. Alex enjoys an early March birthday so shouldn't see any problems with it coinciding with a holiday - though this year it even fell on a Monday! When she woke up, she saw her stash in the toyroom - including the Winnie the Pooh beanbag. There's nothing she likes better than unwrapping presents - she loves to help everyone else with theirs! We had been collecting parcels that arrived from Australia and Alex was very excited to open them at the end of the day. She even used some "real" scissors (read metal not plastic) to help cut some of the tape. She had a great time opening the parcels - among others: the cash register, the little people rescue helicopter, the reading cds and clothes - thanks to all. Finally, our traditional "circle of friends" photo on Great Nanna's animal quilt - although she always insists on joining Sebastien for his photos, she didn't want him in hers! That's it for another year...she's already talking about turning five...
