Recycled Fashion Show - affected by Swine Flu

In China, children are celebrated especially on Children's Day on the 1st June. Because of the Dragonboat Festival Duanwu (doo-ann-woo double fives) holiday on Thursday and Friday, Alex had school on the Sunday 31st May. As part of the Children's Day celebrations, her class had been organizing a "Recycled rubbish wearable fashion show" that had included the children making their costumes with their parents at home. Alex seemed to have had a great time helping Daddy make her handbag and Mummy her skirt. The parents were meant to attend and watch the show but unfortunately with the swine (H1N1) flu concerns, the parental attendance was nixed although the show went on and was apparently videoed. Mummy thought it laughable that the parental attendance had been nixed as on the morning of the show, all the children were gathered outside the kindergarten being dressed in their costumes by those very parents...quite a crowd according to Daddy.

We were able to get a photoand video of Alex as we prepared her costume late one night.

Nice work Brett! A bit of a Zoolander moment :-) Must have bought back memories of Bookweek Lys? Looked good - which one of you two is responsible for the pose at the end of the catwalk? Love the peace signs down the catwalk too - a certainty for Alex's 21st I think!
