Alex was hit with inspiration when she heard that it was Daddy's birthday. "Let's have a Spiderman cake!" she declared to Mummy. She pooh-poohed any idea that he might not like spiderman because "he's a boy, Mummy". Plus Mummy was also told to organize balloons and bags...
Hmm, not sure 1) where that came from or 2) where I would source such a cake in xiamen. So Mummy put that away for further consideration and got down to the task of doing Daddy's card. Alex really got into drawing in the card and drew heavily from our recent visit to Thailand - especially the beach.Mummy made sure to label the picture so that she would remember what the items were later. Alex has only recently become interested in drawing figures for herself. Mainly she likes to draw suns and faces. That morning, Daddy had been for a training run so there was nothing he looked forward more to than a nice greasy egg and bacon on toast breakfast.Afterwards, Alex and Sebastien helped him to unwrap his present after Alex explained her card drawing to him.Alex was excited to see that there were two badminton raquets - one her size. But there was no time to test them out - it was a work day for Daddy. Later that morning Mummy asked Alex to select a cake for Daddy from the glass case in the supermarket. We ended up withthree small ones - each about the size of your palm around and filled with cream. We took them into Daddy's office. Remember, this is where the plastic high heels have been banished to due to the noise complaints of our downstairs neighbor.Sebastien is also a fan of Daddy's office as there are obstacles to drive cars over and through. We imposed our presence on Daddy for almost an hour and then left him to do some work - with the promise of attending the Lantern Festival that night.
