I should also add that, inevitably it seems, Sebastien will return from such an expedition with a new bruise, scrape or bump.

Out and About with Daddy
Sometimes Mummy gets a day off - usually Saturday or Sunday - and this is when Daddy likes to go hiking. Now if you ask Alex, she is no fan of hiking - particularly up and down hiking - though she doesn't mind "exploring". I guess you could say Daddy tested her too much, too soon. Every now and then some of Daddy's students join them on an "explore". I'm not sure about the back story here, one day Brett will comment and we will all be the wiser for it. So in the meantime, enjoy these photos of the kids rambling through the Botanic Gardens in Xiamen (I am not sure whether they paid entry, or avoided it by "exploring" a steep path that connects the campus to the Gardens).
