Christmas Tree 101

Last year Daddy bought a tree to have at our apartment - perhaps stung a little by Mummy's accusation that she was the only one interested in celebrating these things. This year, with Sebastien already two and Alex almost five, it was a team effort to erect said tree. We were listening to Christmas carols in the background on the dvd player - Mummy's vice, although Sebastien has taken to singing "Jingle Bells" on the potty. Getting the tree out of the box required three people.
Then Alex helped manoeuvre the branches into place.
Daddy was responsible for the lighting.
While Sebastien helped lay out the tinsel to wind onto the tree.Mummy made the (correct) decision to leave most of the ornaments off the tree (see that tile floor?) and stuck to baubles and pinecones (oh, and apples - pinguo as Sebastien kept saying as he "retrieved" yet another one from the tree). Sebastien was responsible for getting the ornaments out of the box and giving them to either Daddy, Mummy or Alex. And finally a little something Mummy takes from her own family tradition - Daddy puts the star on the top of the tree.Once it was up the observation was made that perhaps next year we'll need to "upgrade" so as to have the tree taller than the kids...
