Things have changed!

Not only is it now well and truly winter here - I almost feel comfortable in a 3/4 sleeved top instead of a short sleeved shirt - but other things have changed in the almost-two-months we've been away.

First - and most excitingly - we received a terrific parcel from our American friends. Filled with all kinds of posters that had been expertly coloured and written on - plus stickers! You might have noticed in a previous post that the paper chain went onto the christmas tree. We loved opening our parcel and have stuck all of the posters onto our bedroom wall. Now, onto other mundane things. The trees around Xiamen have a white stripe around the bottom third of their trunks - possibly lime? And there seems to have been an upgrade in our security at the apartment with a new front gate that is electronically opened, new barbed wirefence top near the playground to replace the older style broken glass and guards around some of the downpipes. Not that we're aware of there having been any problems...

Building seems to have stopped on the construction site next door.Although it is winter, many trees are in flower including this one outside a public toilet.
