Fuel in Australia is hitting $1.50/L (approx $5.50/gallon) whilst in America, it's at $3.60/gallon (approx $0.90/L).
Meanwhile, the cost of a gallon of milk or a litre of milk.

We Americans have been spoiled for too long. But it is still NUTS!
Imagine how much the grey nomads are spending on fuel towing their caravans around Australia!!
On the positive side of high fuel prices, it makes people think more about their fuel consumption - I've noticed many more people take the bus to work. I enjoy the 45-minute reading time each day, rather than dealing with traffic, lights & parking.
