The case of the missing "G"

For about two weeks now, Alex has started to say "What is that person doin'?" "Where are we goin'?" etc. Hmm, where is that missing "G"? So we're trying to curb that by saying that "doin'/goin' etc" is not a word and she needs to ask again. Plus we're trying to clean up our own language skills - not such an easy thing!

Ha - welcome to every day in my classroom! "What are we doin' today?. I seen him down the street. I bet you by 3 seconds. I was just aksking." Step on it now - she can relearn it quickly. Just make sure she doesn't end up saying haitch instead of aitch (as in the letter) there's nothing worse! You both are great parents. I wish more children were raised correctly!

Oh my! Sounds very similar to a couple of young men in our house too. We REALLY don't like "yeah" and "nah". We obviously say "Is it yeah or Yes?" or "Is it nah or No" often as Lincoln has started asking the same questions to the boys when he hears them speak as well. I'm with Lyndall, I'm baffled by the children at my school as well. I particularly hate the "seen/saw" and "did/done" vocab as well!
